Hello! My name is Jessica Parent, and I'm running for Big Walnut Board of Education.
I'm a mother to a BWI 5th grader, and a passionate believer that Public Education serves the greater good! I believe that the current board is letting our children down by functioning inefficiently, avoiding advocacy at the statehouse (specifically around fair school funding), and putting partisan politics ahead of their obligation to our students. Children don't fall into political parties, and their futures shouldn't fall victim to partisan political wars. It's not about Democrat or Republican, it's about kids! It's about time that someone on our board took a stand for Public Education over politics, and I will do just that! Because every child in the Big Walnut Local School District deserves to be a success story!
I believe that our students deserve a safe and nurturing educational environment, and our community deserves a honest and transparent Board of Education that will represent their best interests as taxpayers.
